Rory has recently completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy with Computer Science. His dissertation sought to elucidate the political aspects of data use, and privacy policies on the Internet, and he hopes in the future to incorporate programming and data analysis into social research and/or policy formation. As you may well appreciate, he has a particular passion–and, dare we say, flare–for formatting.
Alexander Miller Tate
Having recently completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy with Computer Science, Alex has commenced an MSc in Mind, Language, and Embodied Cognition, at the University of Edinburgh. His dissertation focused on the normative underpinnings of critical social theory. He is currently pursuing interests in the philosophical foundations and applications of cognitive science, linguistics, psychology.
Alex has just completed an MA in Social and Political Theory at the University of Birmingham, having previously studied Political Science and Philosophy at the same institution, and PPE at the University of British Columbia. His interests lie in Power and Violence, and he hopes to develop an alternative historiography of violence at PhD level.
James Bowker has just commenced a master’s degree in International Relations, having recently completed a bachelor's degree in the same subject, both at the University of Birmingham. His undergraduate dissertation focused on the emerging field of cyber-protest, and the ethics thereof. He hopes to develop his interest in political protest and resistance further.
In his undergraduate degree – International Relations at the University of Birmingham – Jake had a broad focus. Although he was academically and actively involved with left-parties and protests movements. Aside from his academic interest, Jake is also a somewhat experimental musician, and a highly experimental cook.
